For Jose, tattooing is more than just ink on skin - it’s about creating meaningful, one-of-a-kind pieces that people will be proud to wear forever. Originally from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Jose has been tattooing in Australia for over eight years, bringing his artistic background to life with every piece he creates.

From Illustrator to Tattoo Artist

Before picking up a tattoo machine, Jose worked as a graphic designer and illustrator, refining his ability to translate ideas into powerful visuals. His transition into tattooing allowed him to merge his design expertise with a love for artistic expression. This unique blend is evident in works like his detailed ship tattoo, which showcases fine engraving-style precision.

The Art of Watercolour and Sketch Tattoos

Jose is one of the few tattoo artists in Sydney who specialises in both watercolour and sketch tattoos. His watercolour designs, like the vibrant whale tattoo, bring splashes of colour that seem to flow naturally on the skin. Meanwhile, his sketch-style pieces, such as the eye and shoe composition on the side torso, look like illustrations straight from an artist’s notebook.

More Than Meets the Eye

With a strong presence, a full beard, and tattoos covering his skin, Jose might seem intimidating at first glance — but don’t be fooled. He’s down-to-earth, approachable, and genuinely listens to his clients, making sure they feel comfortable and excited about their tattoo journey. Outside the studio, you might find him expressing his creativity in other ways, like playing the piano, showcasing his artistic soul.

Inspired by Everything

Jose draws inspiration from different cultures, environments, and artistic mediums. His kookaburra tattoo beautifully represents the harmony between nature and art, while pieces like the knight on horseback reflect his fascination with history, storytelling, and movement.
